Stay Cool by Keeping Your Energy Balanced with Toe Tapping


Knowing something about energy can help you maintain your health. One important lesson you learn from Dahn Yoga classes how little things can make a big difference in quality of life. You can keep yourself cool this Summer, if you add Toe Tapping to your routine.

The holistic principle “Water Up, Fire Down” is a variation on the Eastern philosophy of yin and yang. In nature life flourishes when there is a balance between the two opposing energy elements: fire and water. Balance is created or maintained by the circulation of energy. When cool water energy moves upward and warm fire energy moves downward. This is also true of the human body.

According to this principle, the body is healthiest when cool water energy flows upward from the kidneys to cool of the head and warm fire energy flows down from the heart to the lower abdomen. Believe it or not, you can achieve this state with just a few minutes of tapping exercises. Toe Tapping is especially helpful for creating a cool head. The movement of the feet quickly brings warm energy down to the abdomen. But don't just take our word for it, try it for yourself!

    All classes on Friday (August 2nd): 10am & 11:30am. The Wooden Pillow is a helpful tool to relieve tension in the body, and it allows for the skeletal structure to come back into alignment. During the wooden pillow class, members experience several techniques with detailed directions from the instructor, so they can later use the Wooden Pillow on their own. Through the Finding Your True Self workshop, you will have the opportunity to actually connect with your True Self, the "real you", underneath all the layers of emotions, preconceptions, thoughts and memories that we have mistaken for who we really are. Through this workshop, you will regain self-confidence, eliminate negative habits, and achieve more harmonious relationships by developing a deeper understanding of yourself and the people closest to you.
