WARM UP
Before beginning principal yoga exercises, Dahn Yoga practitioners are encouraged to warm up the body, especially the core.

Body Tapping
Body tapping is a traditional health practice in much of Asia. In Dahn Yoga body tapping is used as a warm-up exercise to release tension, stimulate circulation and unblock the body's "energy centers."
Abdominal Press
Dahn Yoga warm up also features an exercise for strengthening and releasing tension in the lower abdomen. This exercise relaxes the diaphragm and improves general circulation.

PRINCIPAL EXERCISES
"Dahn" means "energy" and Dahn Yoga is based on the East Asian understanding of life energy. Dahn Yoga is designed to help the practitioner develop self-awareness and improve the circulation of energy in the body.

Meridian Stretching
In Dahn Yoga the gentle stretching of muscles and joint rotations are designed to help ki (energy) flow more smoothly through the body's energy channels called "meridians."
Deep Breathing Postures
Dahn Yoga include special postures to encourage deep abdominal breathing for greater relaxation and activation of the body's central energy center or "dahn jon."

MEDITATION & COOL DOWN
Traditionally, the discipline of yoga has been used to help people meditate. Dahn Yoga meditation helps the practitioner develop healthy balance of relaxation in body and mind.

Energy Meditation
As practitioners develop greater body awareness and ability to relax, their level of concentration deepens. Dahn Yoga Energy Meditation accelerates this process by shifting the focus away from busy thoughts to the physical sensations of the body.
Brain Wave Vibration
Brain Wave Vibration is a form of moving meditation which is easier to master than traditional sitting meditation. Simple rhythmic movement helps to develop concentration and relaxation.
Cool-Down
After deep meditation, special Dahn Yoga stretching and sweeping exercises help to refresh and invigorate the body.

ENERGY MARTIAL ARTS
In addition to yoga and meditation Dahn Yoga may include energy martial arts as elements of a class or as special classes. These ancient practices help develop balance, awareness and improved health.

Ki Gong
Ki Gong involves meditative movement and breath awareness that help the practitioner accumulate "Ki" (energy) and develop insight. The simple exercises are suitable for people of all ages and ability levels.

In this workshop, an experienced trainer will guide you to carefully observe your body, thoughts and emotions while helping you sense and strengthen your lower core to develop a stronger connection with your body. You will gain a deeper understanding of your body's energy system and how Ki energy works as an intermediary between your mind and body. Benefits include: improvement in your physical condition (strengthen your core), enhanced mental focus and concentration, increase in overall energy levels and more. Course fee: $295, Location: Vienna DahnYoga Center. Please call for more information, or to register for the program. 202-393-2440

Brain Wave Vibration Meditation helped reduce severe bruises

Elizabeth G., Washington DC center, DC

Brain Wave Vibration Meditation helped reduce severe bruises About a week before this particular Brain Wave Vibration class, I twisted my arm in a way that strained it and made huge black and blue bruises all over the upper part of my arm. It really was quite ugly to look at, and very hard to explain to other people. After the Brain Wave Vibration Meditation class, I noticed the coloring on my arm looking much more normal than it had even one hour earlier, and by the end of the day, it had completely healed, because the Brain Wave Vibration Meditation focuses on stimulating the natural healing functions in your brain stem, I was able to experience this profound, and miraculous, change.
