Losing weight and improving the quality of life

I started Dahn Yoga in January 2011 with three goals in mind: to lose weight (I was 200 pounds at the time), relax (I used to commute 55 miles one way for 4 years), and to grow spiritually. I was surprised how natural the exercises feel; you don’t have to stand on your head or do very complicated postures.  However, as simple as they seem they are very powerful and very effective for any level (from beginner to advanced).


The exercise sequence is well-balanced. Starting from stretching, vibration, and Tai Chi, to meditation and relaxation, they all help improve one's physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Now, after taking classes for four months, I feel way more energized, I have lost 47 pounds (it seems like a miracle but it is true), I feel my inner life is healthier, and my relationships with friends and family have improved significantly. I've changed my diet and other life habits, and I must say I am a happier person now than I was a few months ago. I feel that I am ready to reach out more to the community and help others as well.
