Gratitude for Holistic Yoga
Monica Goodpasture, San Ramon center, CA
I started coming to the San Ramon Body and Brain Center because I knew there was something wrong with me. I had pain in my lower abdomen and thought that I could work out my pain by through yoga. Yelena, the excellent instructor at the Sam Ramon Center, helped me immediately. Toward the end of class, Yelena would go out of her way to help me, putting a scented hot pack on my abdomen or using other things to help improve circulation and move stagnant energy. She always hugged me with infinite love flowing from her heart. On February 15, 2010 I was diagnosed with uterine cancer. I had surgery and started a series of chemotherapy infusions in July. Fifty percent of patients on chemotherapy have Deep Vein Thrombosis or blood clots. But because of Dahn Yoga, I knew how important it was to keep active, do ankle circles, and keep my legs flexible to maintain good circulation. I continued to attend classes once a week because Dahn Yoga while undergoing chemotherapy, and I finished my last chemotherapy infusion on November 1, 2010. I appreciate the support I received from Dahn Yoga and Yelena during my treatment for uterine cancer. The endless cup of love I felt from her was instrumental for my recovery and health.
