The Level Up System takes you step-by-step so you can reach your goals!

It's usually easier to get somewhere when you know where you're going. Most people choose yoga as a way to improve their physical health, including the benefits and goals of flexibility, strength and endurance. Rather than stretching and breathing aimlessly, with specific goals and a way to track progress, you can delight in even greater success. That's why Dahn Yoga has recently introduced the "Level Up" system.

The Level Up System involves testing and recording so that members can see for themselves exactly what changes are taking place in their body, mind, and energy condition. From the moment of enrollment, members can follow steps through various exercises and practice areas to gain better flexibility, muscle strength, breathing and energy sensitivity.

Every month, each center will offer a test to determine an individual member's level—from six to one. Then the center manager will meet with the individual to discuss his or her level. The manager will make certain the individual can do the home exercises, breathing and intestine exercises for his or her appropriate level. The individual will have the opportunity to "Level Up" by passing the test for his or her level. To assist members in their progress there will also be special group classes every month focusing on the different exercises in the system.

The progression from level 6 to level 3 is a one year course and progression from level 2 to level 1 is a two-year course, for a total 3-year course. Of course, depending on the individual's condition, effort and experience, the amount of time it takes and the depth can vary.

For each level, the candidates are determined based on the number of classes taken, and candidates must take and pass a test of flexibility, strength, breathing and energy exercises and earn the requisite score in order to move up to the next level. Even if someone should fail the test, there's no need to be disappointed. Dahn Yoga instructors will check the candidate's condition regularly and suggest ways that he or she can improve. In the following month, he or she can check to see that improvement and become more confident as the yoga experience deepens.

You can be more excited about your growth and progress as you get closer to your goals. If you don't already know, find out what level you are at by making a visit to your local Dahn Yoga Center!

Share Your Story

During the new member orientation at the Dahn Center, instructors explain a phenomenon called myunghyun, signs from your body that change is taking place. Dahn Yoga Life, a monthly publication provided by Dahn Yoga, is interested in hearing (and sharing!) your story, and we have a question for you:

Please send your response to dahnyogalife@dahnyoga.com, and you just might see it in print in the June issue of the newsletter!

Coming soon! A CD of Dahn Yoga founder Ilchi Lee's uplifting poems and messages to enliven your spirit: Inspiration for Your Day. Look for it in June at your local Dahn Yoga center or www.bestlifemedia.com.
