Facts to Know About Dahn Yoga

Here are some basic things for you to know about your Dahn Yoga classes. You may have noticed some of them already; and others, you may yet look forward to experiencing. At any time, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask your center manager.

Smiling emoticon Rather than focusing on a strict set of poses, Dahn Yoga incorporates a wide variety of mind-body exercises that help practitioners develop their personal health and wellbeing. Dahn Yoga focuses on the development of the body’s core strength as the basis of physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Smiling emoticon Dahn Yoga teaches practitioners to trust their body’s natural wisdom and does not require a high degree of flexibility, balance, or strength to follow. Thus, people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels may participate comfortably.

Smiling emoticon Dahn Yoga includes a unique emphasis on the brain as the determiner of health and wellbeing. Thus, classes may include brain exercises that challenge and sharpen the mind.

Smiling emoticon Dahn Yoga practitioners report remarkable results in short periods of time, especially with pain management.  Many also report reduction of symptoms associated with chronic illness, including multiple sclerosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis and sciatica.

Your Body Says: "I'm changing!"

Do you remember this question from the e-newsletter sent May 12th?

Here is an interesting response we wanted to share with you:

"I was practicing a yeondahn with both arms in the air above my shoulders, palms facing the ceiling. It was in class for maybe 10-15 min. Near the end, 2 or 3 vertebrae in the middle of my back started to vibrate a lot (not anything else, only that one spot). Then my torso began to sweat all around the center. About 30 minutes after class I was walking around in a store and the whole lower part of my spine released and relaxed, and the way I was walking suddenly changed. I was so comfortable after that. My body felt very grounded, warm and relaxed. Thank you."
