National Fibromyalgia Awareness Month

A widely misunderstood medical condition, Fibromyalgia affects millions of Americans. Although there is no cure for this painful, chronic syndrome, various exercises and stress-reduction measures, along with certain medications, can help manage symptoms. Fibromyalgia sufferers endure widespread muscular and skeletal pain accompanied by fatigue and sleep, memory, and mood issues. Some researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way the brain processes pain signals.

Many Dahn Yoga members have courageously faced the challenges of Fibromyalgia and have used Dahn Yoga to recover health and peace of mind. Member Deena Caruso of the Oceanside Dahn Yoga Center is one such strong spirit who has made remarkable leaps in healing from Fibromyalgia, as well as multiple other medical conditions.
Read the full story of Deena's road to recovery.
