In all of his many years as a Dahn Yoga instructor, manager, and even Sunsa, or Senior Master, Joongji Sunsanim never expected to sing one of his favorite Korean songs in front of a group of program participants. (He later admitted that it was the first time he had ever actually done that, in all the years he had stood in front of many people as a trainer.)
But when he asked the participants in a recent Brain Management Consultant, or BMC, course to select the next person to come up to the front and spontaneously sing a song, he heard them calling his own name. Being someone who practices what he preaches, Joongji Sunsanim didn’t hesitate to set an example with full enthusiasm and demonstrate yet again what it means to apply the principles of BE in your life as a true Brain Management Consultant.
That’s what the BMC course helps you do. It helps you confidently answer the question, “Why does everyone need to learn Brain Education?” You are provided with the tools you need to implement Brain Education in your everyday life meaningfully and teach it to others professionally.
Teaching to Learn
Common sense and experience compel most people to agree that the best way to learn something is to teach it, and that the best way to teach is from your own experience. From dahnjon tapping, to intestine exercises, to do-in exercises as well as Brain Wave Vibration and Dahnmu (energy dancing), what participants experience at the BMC course goes far beyond the regular classes.
Instead of spending a small portion of a one-hour class on each exercise, they take the time to learn it in depth so that they are able to show people how to do it and check if they’re doing it right.
During the course, participants become well-acquainted with all five steps of Brain Education and share in each other’s progress and reactions. Through this process they discover how to use BE principles to manage their brain.
The BMC course enables participants to learn the principles and practices of Brain Education experientially, so that they can have confidence when teaching others. Successful completion of the course qualifies participants to be officially certified by IBREA, the International Brain Education Association. They are also qualified to receive monetary compensation for teaching Brain Education programs outside of Dahn Yoga or Body + Brain Holistic Yoga Centers.
BMCs can receive a commission for introducing members to various programs and can incorporate their practice into pre-existing businesses such as an office for Eastern medicine, a chiropractic clinic, or even a personal coaching business. They come from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds, and many of them have become involved in outreach—serving their local community by providing Brain Education in places such as senior centers or even public parks.
One early BMC graduate, Waikwong Yeung from Oregon, integrated his BMC training into his Advanced Network Chiropractic practice. He had experienced the benefits of Brain Education exercises from attending classes at a Dahn Yoga Center and started teaching them to his patients to help ease and speed their recovery, and give them more power and responsibility over their treatment.
Through the BMC course, Waikwong Healernim learned a flow and system of exercises that let him create consistently effective classes and better advise his patients. As a result of the classes, his patients can feel the energy flowing in their body as he works on it, giving them greater trust in his service. They now also require fewer treatments.
That was amazing!
Besides being effective as a course for learning to teach others, the BMC course has become highly popular for self-development. This comprehensive, step-by-step program helps participants improve blood and energy circulation and relax their muscles and joints.
Healthy energy circulation can perform wonders in the body both subtle and obvious. At the end of a training session, it is common to see participants’ faces glowing, their smiles radiant as they give comments like: “That was amazing!” or even “I feel so refreshed. I feel like a new person.”
It makes sense: if ten minutes of Brain Wave Vibration in a regular Dahn Yoga class can help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated, you can imagine how bright and energized you can feel from devoting a few days to training.
There is a feeling of lightness and bliss, of peace, freedom, gratitude, and unconditional love, which is difficult to explain. If you are willing to trust your experience, it is possible to experience this cosmic energy we call Chunjikiun.
Richard Bingham from the Dahn Yoga center in Copperfield, TX took the plunge, and he “was able to connect deeper with cosmic (universal) energy.” He said, “I found greater peace. I was able to feel the energy moving in my body more than ever.”
Over 300 BMCs have taken the course since it was first offered in May of 2009. The program is designed to accommodate those with no previous experience at Dahn Yoga or Body + Brain locations, so that they can take the program and find it deeply satisfying.
