The Call of Sedona Retreat

November 29th, 2011

Embracing our spirit connections in nature

For members to truly experience the key messages of Dahn Yoga founder Ilchi Lee’s book, The Call of Sedona: Journey of the Heart, a very special retreat program was designed for November 11th that attracted hundreds of enthusiastic participants.

The Call of Sedona Retreat started with anticipation and joyful laughter in the training hall of Sedona Mago Retreat Center, where retreat members awaited Dahn Yoga CEO, Joongji Sunsanim, whose expert guidance in Younggamudo and Dotongju training helped relax their bodies and open their minds. Soon after, everyone left in six extra large buses to visit Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock, two of Sedona’s famous vortex sites. Meditation helped them appreciate the graceful maternal energy of Cathedral Rock’s soaring peaks, and meditation guides helped them harness the inspiring power emanating from magnificent Bell Rock.

Filled with gratitude after the enlightening Sedona tour, members were taken to the Celebrate the Sedona Spirit event at the Sedona Performing Arts Center, a joyful and inspiring gathering of eight hundred people absorbed in the sounds and rhythms of diverse nations’ powerful drumming and performance groups, including a local a cappella group and hip hop dance team.

The main event featured Ilchi Lee, who shared his inspirational message of the Sedona Spirit—through simple activities such as meditation and breathing, we can open our hearts and minds to connect with ourselves and others.

One member, Suzabba Natanyan of Glendale, California, said, “It was the most powerful experience I have ever had. Reading the book was really more like a message that keeps evolving every time you read it!”
