Hope Grows in Brea

January 28th, 2012

With almost two hundred Energy Meditation Circles in the US today, most of which are run by Dahn Yoga practitioners and readers of Ilchi Lee’s book, The Call of Sedona, Dahn Yoga Life is pleased to announce a new series featuring a different circle each month.

The Brea, California Dahn Yoga Center kicks off our series with a special acknowledgement because this center has generated not one but seven Energy Meditation Circles.

Some examples: Roland Rodriguez, leader of one of these circles, invites his friends and relatives to his home to practice meditation together. He also shares the methods through Skype with his friends in other states. Hyesung Seo, another leader, does meditation and energy work with people in the area’s senior center. Another member teaches Dahn Yoga practices and shares messages from the book, The Call of Sedona, at a local park.

One noticeable example is Judy Smith. She found the perfect space for the circle in her garage. Retired from her full time lecturer position at California State University at Fullerton this past April, she is now teaching part-time as adjunct faculty. Judy has been a member of Dahn Yoga for several years and completed her Dotong Course last October.

At that time, she made a pledge that she would form a meditation circle and pay forward what she has received from Dahn Yoga. When she thought of where she could hold meetings, the space in her garage seemed ideal; she cleaned it up and set up a carpeted center with Dahn Yoga books and some energy artwork. Then she invited her friends with limited mobility, two family members who had asked for help with struggles of grief and mobility issues, and one of her colleagues at CSUF.

“I prayed for a meditation circle and it happened to me,” she smiled. “I promised and I love these girls and want them to be brighter, more mobile, and take care of themselves. I want them to have what I found in Dahn Yoga.” Every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., the circle begins with basic Dahn Yoga exercises, such as tapping and stretching, and then the Six Steps of Meditation Judy learned at the Dotong Course in Sedona. The circle then concludes with reading The Call of Sedona and sharing inspirations received from its messages.

Judy says, “They are coming to believe they are not victims but rather are very powerful women who can be the creators of their own lives. They are really happy with it. They have had many sad memories and losses in their lives, but are beautiful souls.”

According to Judy, they love Ilchi Lee’s new book—especially the section where the author talks about each flower being beautiful. With a big smile, she shared, “My vision? I want to learn to share unconditional love, without any judgments.”
